Three trawlers from the fishing port of Onahama in Iwaki city took part in a weekly experimental fishing some 40 kilometers away from the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant and in waters deeper than 135 meters. Leaving in the middle of the night, the boats return to their ports before noon loaded with a variety of species listed by the local fishing cooperative, including squid, octopus and some 15 species of fish. Samples taken from the catch are tested for radioactive contamination by the fishing cooperative with its own radiation monitoring apparatus. If the samples have radioactivity levels under 50 becquerel/kg, the catch is sold on the local market. The coast off Iwaki is known to be one of the best fishing area in Japan but continuous highly radioactive water leak into the ocean from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant is contaminating fishing grounds and leaving fishermen out of work. Il Ministero del Lavoro ha reso noti i dati circa i controlli effettuati in materia di cooperative. Sulle 934 ispezionate, ben 470 – più o meno la metà – sono risultate irregolari, con oltre 3700 lavoratori non in regola, di cui 399 totalmente in nero.
Il dato dimostra l’impegno da parte del Governo nel contrastare quelle cooperative che trasformano le attività di promozione sociale e gli scopi mutualistici statutari in una sola e unica massimizzazione dei profitti, con totale dispregio circa le garanzie dei lavoratori e azzerando al minimo la concorrenza di mercato.
Rispetto all’anno passato, si registra un netto aumento, in termini sia quantitativi che qualitativi, dei controlli statali sugli enti cooperativi, che nel 2015 erano stati in media 905.
Un giro di vite che si spera sia destinato ad aumentare.
